The following words were spoken by the late Red Skelton on his television program as he related the story of his teacher, Mr. Laswell, who felt his students had come to think of the Pledge of Allegiance as merely something to recite in class each day.

I (me, an individual, a committee of one.) Pledge (dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.) Allegiance (my love and my devotion.)To the flag (our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there’s respect because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody’s job! ) of the United (that means that we have all come together.) States (individual communities that have united into 48 great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that’s love for country. ) And to the republic (a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people and it’s from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.) For which it stands, one nation (one nation, meaning “so blessed by God”) Indivisible (incapable of being divided.) With liberty (which is freedom — the right of power to live one’s own life without threats, fear or some sort of retaliation.) And Justice (the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.)For all (which means it’s as much your country as it is mine).

     My Friends and I went out to Dragon Man’s today for their annual Machine Gun Shoot. This is a popular event that gives everyone the opportunity to hold and fire some very impressive machine guns and weapons of all types. A good time for all..  We were also celebrating my friend JW’s transition into the world of marriage. What could be better than spending time with friends and firing some truly awesome weapons. Bertha Lewis, ACORN’s chief organizer, said it is illegal for the filmmakers to film without notification and “fabricate” their stories, and action will be taken. Meanwhile, the dismissal of the ACORN workers on the videos was confirmed.

“I cannot and I will not defend the actions of the workers depicted in the video,” Lewis said in a prepared statement.

At ACORN’s Washington office, two workers were fired after a video revealed them offering to help the filmmaker acquire illegal home loans to set up a brothel. Those dismissals came only a day after two workers in Baltimore were fired for advising the “pimp” and “prostitute” how to fake tax forms and apply for illegal benefits for 13 “very young” girls who were scheduled to be brought into the U.S. to work as child prostitutes.

I do not approve of the class warfare policies and oppressive, arrogant attitude being pushed on the American people by the Obama Administration and the Pelosi-Reid Democrats in Congress. I’m writing to remind you that you, as government officials, are in government to serve the people, not make the people serve your government.

You know of the widespread disapproval of your wasteful, irresponsible giveaways, leftist redistribution policies, and big-government health care and energy schemes. I highly recommend you refrain from forcing short-sighted and foolish laws upon the citizens of this Republic.

Much as it pains me to say this, I have to admit it – my Democrat friends were right.
 
They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation’s hope would deteriorate, and  sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any time during the  Bush administration.
 
They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the Middle East,  and now, tens of thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan.
 
My Democrat Party friends told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse and sure enough unemployment is approaching 9.5% and the new stimulus packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at any time since the Islamic Terrorists attacks of 9-11.
 
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of scandal, bribery and tax fraud.
 
They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "Pork at the trough" in Federal government and sure enough, 17,500 "Pork Bills" showed up in Congress since January 2009…..
 
I was also told by my Democrat friends that if I voted for  McCain, we would see more deficit spending in Washington D..C. , and sure  enough, Obama has spent more in just 30 days than all other Presidents together – in the entire history of the good ole USA ….
 
Well I voted for McCain in November and my Democrat friends were right…all of  their predictions have come true!

In 2005, Congress passed the Real ID Act, a federal effort to create a national identity card and a database to support it. It would force all states to connect their DMV databases to one interlinked system — facilitating government tracking of all Americans.

We don’t need this type of control!

No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick. If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day.

I agree the healthcare system needs to be reformed, but I do not believe spending money covering those who cannot afford health insurance is the right way to go. If someone can not afford health insurance, that is a choice. Maybe not a direct choice but one that was inferred by their action or inaction. I do understand that everyone run’s into hard times at one time or another and may need help, but I do not believe that this help should come from the federal government, nor do I believe that this help should be ongoing and permanent. We hear in the news that everyone deserves quality healthcare. The only thing anyone deserves is what they are willing to work for.

If we truly want to reform healthcare and drive down costs, we need to reduce or eliminate malpractice suits, decrease the FDA testing requirements, and increase the number of healthcare workers to drive the supply higher than the demand. You may be thinking that this will reduce the quality of healthcare below what you are willing to accept. You are absolutely right. But, on the other hand, by increasing the number of eligible patients through government subsidy and increased taxes, you are in affect accomplishing the same thing.

I’m not a politician, nor an economist.. It’s not my job to find the solution.

It’s my job protect my interests…..
