Most people will agree with you that FDA testing is not something they are willing to give up. The point I was trying to make was that everyone wants things to be safe, but they also want them to be cheap. The economic fact is that you cannot have both. If you are not willing to sacrifice some of the safety, you cannot expect the costs to magically be reduced.

I agree that life is a right, in fact this is written about in depth in the Decleration of Independance and Our Constitution. What most fail to realize is that with this right, comes responsibility. You have the right to succeed, but you also have the right to fail. This is all based on choices an individual makes.

Insurance is a business like any other. If they do not want to cover someone because they are a bad-risk than that is their choice. It is in some cases a sad truth, but forcing a company to take on this bad risk is not and should not be within the federal governments power.

So this is just a friendly cousin response (hugs!) and we can certainly agree to disagree but I have a few responses.
First, I simply disagree with your comment on not needing FDA testing. I know I want my meds tested. Second, there are people who may be more than willing to pay for insurance but because they don't work for a company that provides it they can't. For instance, when I was still a contractor for my current job I tried to get medical independent insurance but I was denied because of a pre-existing condition. So my choice was irrelevant. Obama's plan would prevent this. Finally, I would argue that life is a right and healthcare helps provide that right.
Love you!

Well put. Fact is, there's no good solution, and I don't want tax increases for a failed attempt. Tou-Shea. Bobby for President.
